Arielle (1 of the winter programme volunteers) came with me and Kylie to see what we get up to at mobile creche. As we have a new area, we decided to make bright animals out of old toilet rolls which we can hang from the ceiling or around the room. Though it all went a bit crazy with everyone rushing about trying to find things to create their creature the children seemed to really enjoy themselves. The computer bus was also visiting our site for the day so the older ones quickly made their animals and rushed off to play on the computers. In the afternoon I ended up decorating the walls with newspaper so that they are ready for pictures. We walked back to Sangam via the shops so that i could find some dark chocolate to make a cake. For dinner we were all making something and it ended up we had loads of food but it all tasted great :) It was great fun actually all off us rushing around the kitchen trying to cook at the same time. To finish off the evening we had a campfire with the local guides which was really nice.
Mollie and cholcolate cake ah - some things don't change! (Hil has made 'your' cake twice now; it's NEARLY as good as yours!) I love the thought of the camp-fire and the singing - it sounds glorious! I hope you are having starry, starry skies? I remember the constellations were just amazing when I was in Sangam - and I remember thinking that I was under a different sky from everyone else I know and what a strange (and wonderful!) feeling that was!
ReplyDeleteMollie - I've just ordered all the occasion cards for next spring!! Valentines, Mother's day, Fathers Day, Easter: I looked at each card and thought to myself "Now what would Mollie think of this!" I've probably still got it wrong though!
All well here - sounds great with you,
Lots of love,
Anna.
